A few weekends ago we decided to go on a spontaneous camping trip to Onrus, near Hermanus. It's only just over an hours drive from Cape Town and well worth a visit if you're down here. I love the Onrus campsite - it's right on the sea. It's just a pity that it's all fenced off now for safety reasons. I had a wonderful time being a tourist in my own "city" (region is more appropriate). We saw some incredible sights, especially the wildlife. The Hermanus region is renowned for it's whale-watching and we saw plenty of whales (and other creatures!).

Christine's 30th

My friend Christine celebrated her 30th birthday this past week. She hosted her celebrations at Cafe Sofia at Eden on the Bay in Blouberg. It was a lovely evening with divine meze & tapas platters. I took the liberty of playing photographer for the evening. Here are my favourite shots from the night. Shiraz & Art Festival 2010

I'm somewhat of a red wine addict. Last year a group of friends and I did a Shiraz blending event at Riebeek Cellars in Riebeek Kasteel. The event was part of their annual Shiraz & Art Festival. It was so much fun, and the wine we made wasn't half bad! This year the event took place during the first weekend of October. Photos from this year can be seen here.
