A Panoramic Weekend (Part 2)

I had so many great panoramic shots from this last beautiful weekend in Cape Town that I decided to split the pics over two posts. These one's are of Long Beach, Kommetjie, Glen Beach, Camps Bay, Big Bay and the scenic drive from Llandudno to Camps Bay. For the Part 1 shots of Chapmans Peak and Oudekraal click here.

A Panoramic Weekend (Part 1)

Cape Town has been blessed with the most amazing weather this winter. This weekend was no exception. I was out and about and decided to take a bunch of panoramic shots of this beautiful city I get to call home. Most of these are taken from Chapmans Peak looking back at Hout Bay but there are a few from Oudekraal as well. Part 2 will have shots from Long Beach in Kommetjie and Big Bay in Bloubergstrand.

Part 2 coming tomorrow.

Long Beach

After an entire day searching for waves we settled on small but clean Long Beach and an evening watching the insane swell that hit Teahupoo for the Billabong Pro.

A Great White Encounter

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to spend the day volunteering with African Shark Eco-Charters, a company based in Simons Town that does Great White Shark breaching and cage diving trips. It was an absolutely incredible experience. I couldn't take too many photos because I had to give priority to guests who were snapping away but here are the few "sneak peaks" I got. They're not fantastic pics photographically but it was a day definitely worth blogging about.

Dassiesfontein

If you haven't already visited this little gem of a 'farmstall' on the N2 between Botrivier and Caledon, not far from Cape Town, make a day of it. It's like a treasure hunt; the walls and ceilings are lined with all sorts of things: there are clothes, wine, cheeses, furniture, trinkets, wire hearts, decorative pieces, coffee mugs, kitchen stuff, clocks, mirrors, tiles, toys, antiques and so much more. Visit their website here.
